The Maiskoye deposit is located in the Murmansk Region. The deposit was discovered in 1971 during the expedition, which was holding prospecting operations for copper and nickel ore. As a result of exploration and prospecting operations, the deposit’s reserves were confirmed by the territorial mineral reserves committee of the Murmansk Region at 24,570 tonnes of ore containing 0.1968 tonnes of gold.
In addition, projected resources of the deposit were estimated at 1,733 tonnes of ore containing 0.036 tonnes of gold.
In 1995–1997, the deposit was operated by Vuosna company, which produced a total of 51 kilograms of gold.
